Emirates flies from eight UK airports: London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. Every route goes to Dubai, and most passengers connect there to destinations across Asia, Africa and Australia.
That list answers the first question. The second one matters more when you book. Which terminal do you use, how many flights leave each day, and what changes from one airport to the next? The Emirates UK airports picture shifts with the seasons, and 2026 brought extra disruption.
This guide lists each airport, explains what we could confirm, and flags what you should check before you travel. It also covers how to find your terminal, the check-in rules that apply everywhere, and the transport choices that cause the most trouble on the day. For a deeper look at two airports, read our guides to Emirates flights from Birmingham Airport and Emirates at Heathrow Terminal 3.
Emirates UK airports at a glance
| Airport | Terminal and check-in | What we found on frequency |
|---|---|---|
| London Heathrow | Terminal 3 | Six daily A380 flights, plus six weekly Boeing 777 flights in winter 2025 |
| London Gatwick | North Terminal | Four daily flights from 8 February 2026 |
| London Stansted | Main terminal check-in hall | Daily, on a Boeing 777-300ER |
| Manchester | Terminal 2 since 18 November 2025 | Three daily A380 flights, per the airport |
| Birmingham | Single terminal | 14 flights a week, per Emirates |
| Edinburgh | Check your booking | Daily, per Edinburgh Airport |
| Glasgow | Check your booking | Daily in recent reports, with the aircraft changing |
| Newcastle | Check your booking | Daily in an April 2026 report |
Use the frequency column as a guide. Emirates changes its schedule between summer and winter, and the sources behind each row carry different dates. We explain which is which in each airport section below.
How current is this list?
Emirates confirms all eight airports on its own UK page, which shows fares from each one. Its route pages also show that each airport connects to 85 destinations through Dubai.
The 2026 schedule has not stayed still, though. In February 2026, Emirates put its UK total at 146 weekly flights, including 90 a week across the three London airports. Then a US-Iran war that began at the end of February disrupted flying across the region. An April 2026 report said Emirates was operating about 77% of its planned schedule. By 10 September 2026, Khaleej Times reported that Emirates described about 98% of its network as fully operational.
What does that mean for you? The airports on this list are current. Daily flight numbers, aircraft and departure times can differ from the figures below. Confirm them on your own booking.
Emirates at London Heathrow: Terminal 3
Heathrow is Emirates’ biggest UK gateway. In October 2025, Emirates said it already flew six times a day to Dubai, all on the Airbus A380. It added six weekly Boeing 777-300ER flights from 26 October 2025, every day except Friday. A trade report from July 2026 said Emirates planned six daily A380 pairs from Heathrow in December 2026. That report describes a plan, not a confirmed timetable.
Emirates uses Terminal 3. Our guide to Emirates at Heathrow covers check-in, the lounge, arrivals and the £7 drop-off charge in detail, so we won’t repeat it here.
One planning point is specific to Heathrow. The extra winter flights in the 2025 timetable left at 21:20 or 22:35, so evening departures leave you time for the drive, and also for a long wait if you arrive too early.
Emirates Gatwick: North Terminal
Gatwick had three daily Emirates flights until 8 February 2026. A fourth daily flight began that day, which brought Emirates to 12 daily flights across the three London airports. The new service uses an Airbus A350-900 with three cabins: 32 lie-flat Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, 28 Premium Economy seats and 238 Economy seats.
Flight EK069 leaves Dubai at 17:05 and lands at Gatwick at 20:50. EK070 leaves Gatwick at 23:55 and lands in Dubai at 11:00. Those were the announced launch times, not a promise for every season.
Emirates says its Gatwick flights land and depart from the North Terminal. Gatwick’s rail station connects to the South Terminal, so train passengers need to reach the North Terminal from there. Our Gatwick North Terminal guide explains the layout and the shuttle.
The A350 matters if you care about the cabin. Business Class on the A350 differs from the A380 upper deck, and the aircraft type shows on your booking.
Emirates at London Stansted
Stansted has the fewest Emirates flights of the three London airports. Its official Emirates page lists direct flights to Dubai on a four-class Boeing 777-300ER, which includes Premium Economy. A July 2026 trade report showed two daily 777-300ER flights planned for December 2026.
Stansted asks passengers to complete online check-in first, then use the main terminal check-in hall for bag drop. The airport page says Emirates passengers are currently eligible for the Essence by Escape Lounge. Other sources describe an Emirates Lounge in Satellite 1, so ask Emirates which one applies to your ticket.
Stansted suits passengers in Essex, Cambridgeshire and parts of East Anglia. Check the road and rail plan the day before you travel.
Emirates Manchester: Terminal 2
Emirates Manchester passengers need to know about one recent change above all. On 18 November 2025, Emirates moved its Manchester flights from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2. Manchester Airport’s own Emirates page now says flights depart from and arrive at Terminal 2.
The airport lists three daily non-stop A380 flights from Manchester to Dubai. Emirates retrofitted some of those aircraft, and an April 2025 report said the upgraded A380 has 56 Premium Economy seats.
During the move, Emirates told passengers to allow extra time to reach check-in. It also said a new Emirates Lounge in Terminal 2 was under construction, with an opening expected in mid-2026, and that eligible customers could use the 1903 Lounge in the meantime. We could not confirm whether the new lounge has opened, so ask Emirates before you plan around it.
Passengers who used Manchester before November 2025 sometimes still head for Terminal 1 out of habit. Check your boarding pass. Our Manchester Terminal 2 guide shows the layout.
Emirates at Birmingham Airport
Emirates says it operates 14 flights a week from Birmingham to Dubai. That works out at two departures a day. When we checked, Emirates listed an afternoon A380 and a late-evening Boeing 777. The outbound flight takes about 7 hours 10 minutes.
Birmingham has one main terminal, so the terminal question disappears. Departure screens show the Emirates desks. The late-evening flight leaves after the Emirates Lounge’s listed closing time, so ask Emirates about lounge access before you plan around it.
Our full Birmingham guide covers the lounge hours, drop-off charges and the free Chauffeur-drive perk for Business Class passengers.
Emirates Edinburgh: Daily Dubai Flights
Emirates came back to Edinburgh on 4 November 2024, after a break that began in March 2020. The first flights used a Boeing 777-200LR, while Emirates waited for its A350-900 aircraft. Edinburgh Airport now says Emirates flies daily in both summer and winter and uses the A350 on the route.
The 2024 timetable showed flight EK23 leaving Dubai at 14:50 and landing in Edinburgh at 19:05, and EK24 leaving Edinburgh at 20:40. Times change, so treat those figures as history. Edinburgh Airport says Emirates connects the city to nearly 150 destinations through Dubai, including routes to Australia.
We could not find terminal or check-in desk details on the Edinburgh pages we reached. Look for your flight number on the departure screens when you arrive.
Emirates Glasgow: Aircraft and Schedule
Emirates has flown from Glasgow since 2004. In 2019, it launched the first regular A380 service from Scotland. More recent reports show the aircraft changing: Gulf News described a daily A380 in November 2024, while an April 2026 report said Emirates was swapping an A350-900 for a Boeing 777-300ER with no change in frequency.
The pattern matters more than any single report. Glasgow gets a daily Emirates flight, and the aircraft type depends on the season. If the cabin matters to you, look at the aircraft shown when you book.
The Emirates and Glasgow Airport pages we reached did not publish check-in desk or lounge details. Use the airport’s departure board on the day.
Emirates at Newcastle Airport
Emirates has served Newcastle since 2007. In 2022, it flew five times a week on a Boeing 777. An April 2026 report said Newcastle was moving to a daily A350-900 service.
That shift matters if you plan around a particular day. Older guides that say Newcastle has flights only on certain days are now out of date. Check your booking for the weekday, the time and the aircraft.
Newcastle connects to the same Dubai network as the other seven. We found no Emirates-specific terminal notes on the pages we reached.
What if your nearest airport is not on the list?
Emirates does not list flights from East Midlands, Luton, Bristol, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool or any other UK airport on its UK departure page. We found no sign of Emirates flights from them in current sources.
If you live near one of those airports, you drive or take a transfer to one of the eight. Midlands passengers usually choose Birmingham. Some choose Heathrow or Manchester for a different flight time or aircraft.
Our airline chauffeur guide explains how the free Emirates Chauffeur-drive perk works for premium passengers. It covers what the distance limit means if your home sits far from your departure airport.
Where Emirates takes you from the UK
All eight airports fly to Dubai. From there, Emirates says its network covers 85 destinations from each UK airport. Overnight Heathrow departures connect to Durban, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Jakarta, according to Emirates’ 2025 release. Edinburgh Airport points to Australian gateways as well.
A connection through Dubai usually means one ticket, one baggage allowance and a single check-in at your UK airport. That covers most passengers, but not everyone. A separate ticket with another airline, or a codeshare booking, can change how you check in online and how your bags travel. Read your booking and the airline’s instructions before you assume your suitcase goes through.
How to check your airport, terminal and flight
Airport details change, and a bad guess costs time. Follow this sequence before you leave.
- Open your booking on emirates.com or in the Emirates app. It shows the airport, the date, the flight number and the aircraft type.
- Look at your flight number. Emirates numbers begin with EK.
- Open the airport’s own website and find the live departures board. Manchester Airport’s Emirates page, for example, names Terminal 2.
- Check the Emirates notices on the UK page, where terminal moves appear.
- Read your boarding pass again on the morning of travel. It may show a terminal or a check-in zone.
Do this twice, once when you book and once the day before. Terminal moves, schedule changes and aircraft swaps all show up in that window.
Check-in and baggage rules that apply everywhere
The core rules are the same at all eight airports.
- Online check-in opens 48 hours before departure and closes 90 minutes before for passengers with an e-ticket.
- Emirates advises arriving about three hours before departure, and up to four hours at some airports.
- Economy and Premium Economy passengers should reach the gate 60 minutes before departure. First and Business Class passengers have until 45 minutes before.
- Emirates uses a weight system on flights from the UK to Dubai, so your allowance is a total number of kilograms.
If you hold a codeshare booking, or you travel with an infant, you check in at the desk. Our Emirates baggage allowance guide lists the allowance by cabin, the cabin bag sizes and the excess baggage rules.
Desk opening times differ by airport, and Emirates does not publish them on the pages we reviewed. Use the three-hour guide and your own airport’s advice.
Chauffeur-drive from your door
Emirates offers a free Chauffeur-drive to First and Business Class passengers. You must arrange the pick-up at least 10 hours before your flight. One adult gets one car, and the driver waits up to 15 minutes. First Class passengers travel in a BMW 7 Series and Business Class passengers in a BMW 5 Series Touring, subject to availability.
Distance limits apply. Emirates shows the included mileage on a map for each city, so enter your home address to see where you stand. Extra mileage costs money, and you pay a local partner before the journey. Emirates said a local partner would contact Manchester Chauffeur-drive customers if the Terminal 2 move changed their pick-up time.
Getting to your airport
Each of the eight airports poses a different question.
Heathrow. The rail station serves Terminals 2 and 3, and the Heathrow Express reaches Paddington in about 15 minutes. Heathrow charges £7 each time a vehicle enters a terminal drop-off zone.
Gatwick. The station sits at the South Terminal, and Emirates uses the North Terminal. Add time for the shuttle.
Stansted. Online check-in comes first, and bag drop happens in the main terminal check-in hall.
Manchester. Terminal 2 now handles Emirates. Anyone driving should book Terminal 2 parking in advance, since the airport says pre-booking can save up to 77%.
Birmingham. The rail station connects to the terminal by a free monorail. Drop-off rules include a free period of up to 10 minutes in the Drop Off car park.
Edinburgh, Glasgow and Newcastle. We found no Emirates-specific transport notes on the pages we reached. Check the airport’s website for drop-off and parking charges, which change from year to year.
Long-haul luggage makes all of these harder. A family with four large suitcases needs more than a taxi rank, and a late evening departure adds fatigue to the mix.
Planning mistakes to avoid
- Heading for the wrong Manchester terminal, since Emirates left Terminal 1 in November 2025.
- Using last year’s schedule, when the number of daily flights has changed.
- Assuming the Emirates Lounge opens for a late flight, when listed hours may end before departure.
- Booking a saloon car for a family with five bags.
- Forgetting a drop-off charge, or paying it after the airport’s deadline.
- Ignoring the aircraft type, which decides the Business Class seat and the Premium Economy cabin.
- Trying online check-in on a codeshare booking, which does not work when another airline operates the first flight.
Most of these take a minute to check. They cost far more when you discover them at the kerb.
How National Executive Transfers helps
National Executive Transfers lists chauffeur transfers for ten UK airports. Five of them match the Emirates list above: Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Manchester and Birmingham. We cover each one with flight tracking, meet and greet in the arrivals hall and fixed prices agreed before you travel.
The practical benefits depend on the airport. At Heathrow, a driver removes the £7 drop-off charge and the walk from a car park. Your Gatwick driver knows which terminal Emirates uses, so you do not end up at the South Terminal with a heavy case. In Manchester, a driver who tracks Terminal 2 changes helps you arrive at the right entrance. Our Birmingham Airport transfers page covers the airport where we are based.
A private transfer also fills gaps in the Emirates perk. Economy passengers do not receive Chauffeur-drive. Homes outside the included distance cost extra under the airline scheme. Families and groups often need a larger vehicle, such as a Mercedes V-Class.
